Kyle Richardson

Director of Football Player Development & Freshman Transition

After winning the 2010 state championship, Richardson took the reins of the Trojans’ football program. Under his tutelage, Northwestern went 58-14 and won a pair of South Carolina Class 4A-Division II state titles.

Not long after romping to a 2015 state championship over Lexington, a phone call from Swinney helped make his dream a reality.

″(Clemson football) coach (Dabo) Swinney called me on the phone and said he’d heard me speak at a clinic and had followed my career from afar,” Richardson said at the time. “And he offered me the chance to work for him at Clemson. It was bittersweet in that we’d just won the state championship and everybody was coming back. But it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

Since coming to Clemson, Richardson has added another ring - courtesy of the Tigers’ 2017 national title win over Alabama. According to Swinney, he is an asset particularly when the coaching staff is not on campus and performing a host of other duties.
