Meet the expert

Allison Schmitt is a 10X Olympic medalist, World Champion swimmer, 4X Olympian, and SURGE’s honorary Chief Empowerment Officer. After an accomplished professional and collegiate swimming career, Schmitt earned her master’s degree in social work and has become a passionate advocate for the mental health and well-being of young female athletes. Drawing from her own experiences at the highest levels of sport, she helps guide SURGE’s programming to empower girls with the tools, confidence, and support they need to thrive both on and off the field of play.
