Head Boys Basketball Coach Founder of Ball City Basketball Academy
James Ballstaedt is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah. Coach Ballstaedt comes to the coaching world with a unique background of basketball and business. James started a luxury lodging property management company and operated it for nearly 20 years. While running the business, James coached basketball at various AAU levels. After selling his business he accepted the head coaching position at Wasatch High School. James is the founder of Ball City Basketball Academy and is the co-founder of the Utah Top 50 Elite League. He is also the Vice President of Utah Basketball Club (UBC Elite), a prominent club program in Utah that has helped over 200 players reach their goal of playing college basketball. James’ most important roll is a Father and Husband. He and his wife, Kristen, have four sons; all of which play basketball. The oldest three have all gone on to play college basketball and the youngest is still in high school working toward that goal. James’ interest in the roll of sports parents came from being a dad before he was a high school coach. Sitting in the stands and feeling the vast range of emotions as a sports parent, and observing the varying ways that parents express those emotions.
