Head Baseball & Assistant Football Coach at Bosqueville High School
David Anderson has served as the head baseball coach for the past 5 years after taking over the program in 2019. He spent one year as the assistant coach in 2018. David graduated in 2010 from Reicher Catholic High School, in Waco, Texas where he was a part of two football state championship teams & 1 baseball state championship. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Arkansas in 2016. While in Arkansas, he was a volunteer coach at Prairie Grove High school in 2016 and 2017. David came back to the Waco area in 2017 when he joined the Bosqueville coaching staff. In 4 years as the Head Coach of the Bulldogs, Coach Anderson has a record of 95-18-1 with trips to the Regional Semi Finals (2019), The Regional Finals (2022) & The State Tournament (2021). The Bulldogs have finished either District Champs or Co-District Champs each year under Anderson in arguably the toughest district in 2A. (The last 3 Region 2 Winners have all come from District 14-2A). Coach Anderson has been named District Coach of the Year 3 times & Super Centex Coach of the Year in 2021 after the Bulldogs finished the year with a Record of 35-4. Being at a small school comes with other duties than just baseball. Coach Anderson is also the offensive line coach where he enjoys the attention to detail and the selflessness that it takes to compete on the offensive line. He also takes great pride in teaching an EOC tested subject and this past year had a 100% passing rate for his US history class. David is married to Payton Anderson who also is a coach. Payton served as the China Spring Cougars Softball Coach in 2022 winning the district championship and advancing to the Area Round. He is excited to speak to other coaches, especially coaches at small schools like his-self. Baseball has always been a passion of Coach Anderson’s and he is very blessed to have been chosen by BSN to speak.
