
Head Track & Field Coach; Boston Mountain Athletics
Currently residing in Bella Vista, Arkansas, Louisiana native Dave Anderson has coached 27 State Championship Teams and 31 State Runner-Up Teams in Track and Cross Country. His newly formed club, Boston Mountain Athletic Club was formed in 2018, and has produced some of Arkansas’ top pole-vaulters. He was the Louisiana Sportswriters Association “Coach of the Year” 4 times and a nominee for National Federation of High Schools “National Coach of the Year” twice. Inducted into the ARK-LA-TEX Track and Field Hall of Fame, he is the only coach in the history of Louisiana Class 5A to win State Championships in Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Boys Track, and Girls Track. In 20 years at Ruston, Louisiana HS his athletes established 39 out of a possible 42 School Records & has coached at least 1 State Champion in every Track and Field event. He has coached six High School National Champions. His West Monroe , La team was # 5 in the US in the NIKE Web Nationals . Nine of his former Ruston High track/football athletes went on to play in the NFL including former LSU Tiger and Buffalo Bill Pro Bowler, Kyle Williams. Five of his athletes competed internationally representing USA Track & Field in Canada, Cuba, Finland, Australia, & Italy.
In October of 2019, the Lincoln Parish School Board voted to name the Track & Field Complex @ Ruston High School the “Dave Anderson Track & Field Complex.”
While at Bentonville Arkansas HS from 2012-2016, Anderson coached athletes rewrote the record book by setting 22 new BHS records highlighted by a championship in the Sprint Medley Relay at the prestigious Kansas Relays. With only 1 varsity Pole vaulter upon his arrival in 2012, that event group grew to 27 total and produced signees @ BYU, Arkansas State, Missouri Southern & Pittsburg State.
Coach Anderson is a USATF certified Level 2 coach in 3 event areas, USTFCCCA certified coach in Strength & Conditioning, USTFCCCA Specialist certified Multi event coach and IAAF certification from the World Junior Track & Field Conference in Eugene, Oregon. His most recent clinic presentations have been in California, Florida, Arizona, Maine, Kansas, Louisiana & Texas on multiple topics. Most recently, his Pole vault camp instruction has been in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Lawrence, Kansas, and Queensland, Australia.
