Nike and BSN SPORTS invite you to join us for an engaging Body Confident Sport webinar. Body Confident Sport – a first-of-its-kind, evidence-based set of coaching tools – is designed to leverage sport to help build body confidence in girls ages 11-17.


During the session, you’ll hear directly from Dr. Phillippa Diedrichs from the Centre for Appearance Research and Dr. Nicole LaVoi from the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, the two leading researchers who developed Body Confident Sport. They will share how body confident coaching can keep girls in sport and empower them for a lifetime of confidence.

This program was created to help girls and young people of all gender identities feel more comfortable being active and participating in sport. The aim is to empower coaches and athletes around the world to celebrate the truly awesome things active bodies can do.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Professor Phillippa Diedrichs, PhD

Professor, Researcher, Consultant, Speaker, Author

Professor Phillippa Diedrichs is an award-winning researcher and consultant known internationally for developing and evaluating evidence-based strategies to improve body image and mental health in digital, community, corporate, and policy settings. With a PhD in Health Psychology from The University of Queensland, she is a Professor of Psychology at the world leading Centre for Appearance Research, University of the West of England. She is also the founder of EVERYBODY Consulting, a global team of social scientist experts who consult with powerhouse organizations, including Dove, Nike and Instagram, to disrupt beauty and gender norms, and create more equitable societies.

Dr. Nicole LaVoi, PhD

Director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, University of Minnesota

Nicole M. LaVoi, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in social and behavioral sciences in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota and the Director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport. As an award-winning teacher, and public scholar, through action-oriented collaborative research, she translates data and answers critical questions that can make a difference in the lives of girls and women.
